The tax’s in Connecticut are among the highest in the nation. I really can’t understand the reasoning behind how they figure raising or keeping such high tax rates is a benefit to the State of Connecticut.
The way I see how things should be is we should lower the taxes below our neighboring States tax rate so they come over the border to buy in Connecticut. Increased sales means more tax revenue for the State. Gas tax, Alcohol tax, Cigarette tax are way to high. How can the average Joe in Connecticut be happy?
Now you can see what I’m getting at. By lowering taxes the State will actually gain by increased sales in the State. The same would also happen with business tax breaks. Attracting business to Connecticut which has a great work force full of highly skilled workers is smeared by the ridiculous tax burden put on these businesses.
Connecticut better wake up soon before all the businesses and people move out of this tax happy State.
